About us

Eclipse Wallcoverings was founded in August 1986 by Allan Thomas and his wife Kath. The business is still owned and run by Allan, although Kath sadly lost a battle with cancer in 2010.

As the company’s reputation grew they were asked to become distributors for a number of manufacturers from both Europe and North America, giving the opportunity to offer products on a national basis from stock distributed from the Wigan based warehouse.

For over 20 years Eclipse Wallcoverings have been the sole UK distributor of GLASSTEX paintable fibre glass wallcoverings, and are the largest supplier of Glass fibre wallcoverings and wall liners in the UK. They supply the product nationally to many large and medium sized commercial projects, and also to domestic users.

Having distributed traditionally produced wallcoverings over the last 30+ years they are now delighted to have launched their first in house designed digital range of wallcoverings.

Allan has been in the decorating industry all his working life. Firstly, as a City & Guilds trained paperhanger, then as a Trade Centre Manager, Rep and Operations Manager for a national paint company, before finally starting Eclipse Wallcoverings.

The ethos behind Eclipse Wallcoverings was, and still is, to give the broadest and most cost effective range of wallcoverings for both commercial and domestic clients in and around the Wigan area - all supported by an unbeatable customer service.

Chromo Wallpapers

Chromo is a hand drawn collection of unique designs by artist Hannah Kathryn, a very successful illustrator in her own right. These are exclusive wallcoverings for Eclipse, with many more in the pipe line.

Great designs are only as good as the paper they are printed on, and how they are printed. Eclipse are very fortunate to be working with John Mark Ltd, innovators of luxury grade wallpapers across the world and used by many leading design houses.

The staff at Eclipse truly hope that they can be of help and service to you, the most important part of the company, the customers.
